COVID19, Coronavirus & Cancellations

These are certainly uncertain times for the UK, and in particular for British holidaymakers. Even if you're staying in the UK for a staycation, there is most likely doubt over whether or not your holiday will go ahead. With no definitive answer from the government, even airlines and holiday companies are unsure over what to advise their customers.
2020 has seen a record number of bookings for Nanny McPurr this year, and I am looking forward to caring for some old favourites and some new furry faces.
There has however, also been a handful of cancellations. Some clients have contacted me feeling guilty over cancelling their booking, or even in tears offering to pay their for their cat sitting, despite losing their holiday.
I can completely empathise with those of you who have had your holidays or flights cancelled. We are also facing uncertainty over our own family holiday, which is hugely disappointing.
Please let me reassure all clients, new and old that there will be no charges for the cancellation of bookings for 2020, in light of the World Health Organisation declaring Coronavirus as a pandemic.
This is an unique situation, of which we are all trying to come to terms with and contain. It is bad enough having to limit contact with your families, losing your holidays, and explaining to children that they may not be going on their anticipated travels, without having to pay for a service you cannot use, through no fault of your own.
Where possible, I would ask that you give me 48 hours notice. If you do go away I would also request that you keep me up to date with any delays to your return. It is also sensible that you give a key to another trusted friend or relative, in case of any delays or lost communication.
I do look forward to caring for all the cats that I have booked in for 2020, but if things don't go to plan, please do not worry about cancelling. Just remember to keep me in mind if you know of any other cat owners, that may find my services useful.
So keep washing those hands, keep hydrated, keep being the crazy cat people that I know you all are, and please stop panic buying toilet roll!
